About the site
Revideos was created thanks to the great game of REOF2. The gameplay, the results you can get and the game's difficulty were the reasons for creating the site. It will be a place, where every fan can find a video for himself and kill the time required to wait for a new part of RE to be released. It will also be a place where we can share our results and meet every day to even the smallest piece of news. We want to improve the site continuously and every will of helping us will be appreciated. Fresh news a are the basis of a good site, so send us your news to news@revideos.net.
The history
Revideos.net wasn't created in just a few hours and the site has it's history. One day I was playing REOF2 online and I've decided to record my game and upload it somewhere on the internet, just for laughs. Also some of the players who never saw REOF2 asked me to do that. This is the story of my first video. It was a video for Showdown 1 on Very Hard, where single mistakes end with death. After watching the video several times, I realised that it would be a good idea to show the people something more than just playing on the hardest difficulty level.  
I've decided to create a smiple site on wich I would upload some of my videos and it worked out! The site has grown to what you see today. But first things first. After some time there were so many videos on the site, that I lost control over them. the videos I was uploading were huge (sometimes up to 600mb) and I had to split them in order to upload them to rapidshare. It was really hard to keep track of all the files. I was the first person, who created a site completely devoted to his online achievements. A single site wasn't enough for me. After hours of hard work, I managed to create a site that I named Revideos.net.  
I was the first site all about Resident Evil videos. It sometimes was really hard. I really needed a normal hosting. Teh fans were tired of downloading huge files and waiting times on rapidshare. All the time I was looking for a free hosting. But I kept using rapidshare until version 2.0 of the site was created.
One day Kozul from the RCS Board (don't look for me there, I'm not on the userlist anymore) and showed me a layout he made for Revideos.net. After serveral hours of work the site became a true member of the internet because it was created corretly and it had decent looks.  
But something was still missing. The site was created in pure Html and it still lacked decent hosting. Every update required a lot of work with creating endless sites for new movies. There was also no PHP and MySql, so easier administration was only a dream. But times change and I've decided to buy a better hosting. I've chosen Home.pl because of 24/7 online help and a good quality of services. Home.pl is a polish hosting and this can have an effect on the site's loading times, but I think that it's not a problem for a real RE fan. Thanks to months of hard work and Kozul's new layout, you can now enjoy the new verson of the site. Hope you like it! |
