The first time...

Intro

It was one of semptember's days. After the european release of REOF2, I've decided to add it to my collection. I was hoping for may hours of gameplay, adventures and many memories. Did the game provide me all this? Keep reading on...

Something's wrong

When I returned home with my fresh box of REOF2, I thought it would be a good time to start the feast. I put the DVD into my console, select the Single Player option, the character (Kevin of course) and start the game. After a few moments I thik to myself "I... tottaly can't play this game!" I go to the oprions sceen quickly, I check the cintroller settings and what do I see? Six predefined controller profiles. In every single one you run using the circle and go to the status screen with start. This was a huge drawback for me, a person used to GCN's Wave Bird. There was also no option allowing you to change the controller settings. The second bad thing was the camera system. It's completely different than the system from the older parts. When I first played the game I had problems even with running, not to mention other things. It got late, I was sitting home, reading some news. Then I remebered that there is a new Resident Evil game on my shelf, that I haven't yet tried. I've decided to complete the first availible scenario - the Training Ground. I was hoping that after I finish the training, I will get into the game. Well, it wasn't quite like that... After finishing the Training Ground and a few hours of wandering the streets of Raccoon looking for the sense of further existance, the game landed on my shelf

Sometimes bad things turn out to be good

After some hard time with REOF2, revelation finally came. I completely forgot that this game has a multiplayer option. I don’t know why, but I completely forgot about that feature. This could also be the fault of many „experts” saying that you need a NAD to play etc.
I am a man, who believes only when he sees something. I took a crossed cable, connected the modem to the console, auto config, a moment of silence... and I saw the page where you create your account. You should have seen the expression on my face. I will never forget that evening...
Today I have played hundrets of hours and reached the end of points (999 999 999). All this achieved in half of a year thanks to REOF2...

Lost in Umbrella's labs...

After creating my account I proceeded to log in. After entering my login and password, I clicked the myserios "Entry" button. I enter and what do I see? A door... and as always at the beginning, I don't know which one to enter. I was really suprised when after entering the last one, I found myself in a completely unknown scenario in some sort of laboratory. I wandered the labs for some time and finally found some people I could team up with. Locations full vicious hunters smashing through the doors really gave me a scare and reminded me of good old Resident Evil. The ending made me cry. It showed me that love for Resident Evil is equal to love for people. No game and no ending has ever given me as many emotions as REOF2 and End Of The Road. I still remember the danger while wandering the labs with only the hunters as your companions. The music also creates an awesome atmosphere. With all this combined, you get a game in the style of good old Resident Evil. And those cameras...

And those cameras...

Now a little about the camera system. In REOF2 it's really strange. As I mentioned before, controlling your character is really hard also thanks to the camera system. The worst thing is that the camera angles don't change too often. Sometimes whe have to dodge zombies while observing the action from really far away. Sometimes you have to shoot while not seeing the enemy. That mneans wasting a lot of precious ammo. This is especially bad on the Very Hard level. When we run out of a corridor, we don't see where a zombie or a spider is standing - we have absolutely no chances to dodge them. We have an auto aim option, but it's not as good as you think it may be. The next thing is that the camera angle sometimes changes in a completely wrong moment. I remember serveral times when I was knifing or kicking NVX (the boss of the EOTR scenario) and didn't see my charater nor the boss. Any good things about the camera system? Yes. After playing this game for hundreds of hours , I can say that there isn't anything impossible for me. I can dodge and shoot enemies without even seeing them. I can even kill a boss with tapping my joypad for several hours. My hand really hurts the next day...
